I would guess it is discovered by squeakers who have no girlfriends so they have nothing but time on their hands. They probably use bizarre loadouts that make no sense and no one rational would ever think to use so they stumble upon a glitch completely by accident. Then they tell all their squeaker friends about it while sitting in detention or in-school suspension. The next thing you know we are all being bombarded by thermobarics. Just my guess.
